LIVING PAINT is an active program to design and create moving pictures . The MOUSE driver program should be loaded into memory before operating LIVING-PAINT.
Type "livpaint" at dos prompt then press the ENTER (return) key. The screen will show 3 numbers. Type (1) for CGA 4 color, (2) for black and white , (3) for EGA or VGA.
At the top of the computer screen you will see a line that says : "X" and "Y" numbers are coordinates of the crosshair on the graphics screen. "MEMO" number is the sum of memory that the computer recorded when you active on the mouse buttons . This number does not exceed 2000. The fisrt square is the color in which the line or box should be drawn and the second square is the color of paint command when you choose.The last letter is the command that you are using.
To begin to draw, move the crosshair by moving the mouse to the top left-hand corner of the screen and the menu will display . To select the commands , click ( press and release ) the mouse button at the command you want.
LINE -To draw a line ,move the crosshair to a beginning point then click the left button . Press the right button for the next and next points.
CIRCLE,ELLIPSE,ROSE- Press the left button for the center point. Then press the right button for drawing the border . If you choose the "rose," it will ask you "how many?" This means how many petals do you want on the rose. Type a number then press the ENTER key.
BOX,FILLBOX - Press the left button for one corner of the box or fillbox . Then press the right button for another corner.
COLOR,PAINTING,TILING -On the top line, you will see two squares. The first square represents the border color . The second square represents the color of the paint. To change colors, click the mouse at the color menu. Then you will be given a new color. When Painting or Tiling , move the crosshair inside the object . Then click the mouse button. The color of the border must be the same as the color of the first square on the top line of the screen , if not ,you will have trouble, but don't worry,simply press "F 10" ,
BACKGROUND - To change the color of the background , simply click the F9 button. Press F7 ,a grid will display on screen to help you draw easier ,it disappears when you undo or redraw.
MIRROR you can mirror the selected picture in horizital or upside-down by choose these commands on the menu . Move the crosshair to lower right-hand corner of the picture and click the left mouse button. Then move the crosshair to the upper left-hand corner and click the right button . A mirror image will appear.
MOVING,COPYING - Choose a part of the picture you want to move or copy . Move the crosshair to the lower right-hand corner of that part then click the left button , Move the crosshair to the upper left-hand corner then press and hold right button. Move the mouse, as the mouse moves , the picture moves to . Release the button when you are done . Press the right button again, and you will get multi-moving pictures.

ANIMATION It creates real animated pictures . First you draw two
pictures (for example, two horses) on the black background. Pull down the menu then click the mouse button at "ANIMATION" command.
a- Move the crosshair to the lower right-hand corner of the first picture (about 1/2 inch larger) then click the left button. Next move the crosshair to the upper left-hand corner of this picture ( about 1/2 inch larger ) then click the right button . The first picture will disappear . Repeat step (a) for the second picture.
b- The two pictures are now in the memory . Move the crosshair slowly while you press the left or right button (not more than 1/2 inch distance).The picture will change respectively and you will feel like the picture is moving.
DISPLAY- Click the mouse button at display command
Living paint will rerun what you have designed. Enter a number (larger number ,slower moving) then press the ENTER key .
LOAD MOVIE- It loads any files you have saved . Before you load a new file , don't forget to CLICK at NEW DESIGN command first.
SAVE MOVIE- Program will save all the actions you have designed on the diskette. Type the name you want to save then press the ENTER key.
NEW DESIGN - It clears off the memory,then returns to a new picture.
UNDO- Press the "F10" button to erase the previous mistake in your design. If you undo from the menu , it will ask you "How Many." Enter the amount of marks in order, backwards.
HOT KEY- Use the keys from F1 to F10 to change the commands more quickly
LETTER- To write a letter on the screen , move the crosshair to the position you want to print , then click the mouse . When you are done
typing , press ENTER.
ZOOM - To enlarge a picture, press and hold the left mouse button Move the mouse, the rectangle appears. Release the mouse. The picture in the box will expand all over the screen. For zoom out,press left and right buttons simultaneously or press "F 10".
HOW to DRAW a picture : You Look for a picture in any book that you would like to draw . Place a clear film (sealwrap) on this picture and use a special pen to draw . Then bring that clear film and put it on your computer screen . Use a "LINE" command to draw , move the crosshair at the starting point then click the left button . Move the crosshair to the next point (and next points ) then press and release the right button , continue to the end of the picture.
